When James was age 48 and Mary Tirrell was age 35 they became the parents of Hepzibah Fillebrown October 24, 1776 in Mansfield, Bristol County, Massachusetts.^(16280) James served in the military December 8, 1776 in Rhode Island.^(16281) The 1910 Genealogy states "Filebrown, Fillebrown, James Sr. Private Lieut. John Dean's company, Col. John Daggett's (4th Bristol Co.) regiment; service 2 days. Company made up from 3d and 7th companies in said regiment, and marched on the alarm at Rhode Island of December 8, 1776."

James served in the military circa September 1777 in Norton, Bristol County, Massachusetts.^(16282) The 1910 Genealogy states "...service from September 25, 1777, to Oct. 31, 1777, 1 month 6 days on a secret expedition; roll sworn to at Norton;...", he was a private.

James served in the military circa July 1778.^(16283) The 1910 Geneology states "... also private Capt. Isaac Hodges's Company, Col. Carpenter's regiment; service from July 27, 1778, to Aug. 13, 1778. Eighteen days at Rhode Island."

When James was age 50 and Mary Tirrell was age 38 they became the parents of Sarah Fillebrown February 24, 1779.^(16284) James Fillebrown sold land to Calvin Fillebrown March 18, 1789 in Mansfield, Bristol County, Massachusetts.^(16285) The 1910 Geneology states he "divides his estate between his sons Calvin and Alexander ... Vol. 79, p. 551."

James Fillebrown sold land to Samuel Day July 15, 1794 in Mansfield, Bristol County, Massachusetts.^(16286) The 1910 Geneology states he "... sells to Samuel Day his pew in the meeting house, ... Vol. 73, p.207."

James Fillebrown sold land to Samuel Fillebrown September 1794.^(16287) The 1910 Genealogy states "Samuel Fillebrown of Mansfield attaches the estate of Mr. James Fillebrown (both yeoman) for 27 pounds, 1 shilling and 3 pence, ... Vol. 79, p. 551."

Alexander Fillebrown purchased land from James Fillebrown March 18, 1789 in Mansfield, Bristol County, Massachusetts.^(16300) The 1910 Geneology states he "divides his estate between his sons Calvin and Alexander ... Vol. 79, p. 551."

Alexander sold land to James Fillebrown January 31, 1792 in Bristol, Massachusetts.^(16301) "The Bristol, Massachusetts, County Registry of Deeds contains the following: Alexander Fillebrown and wife Naomi of Mansfield, sell to James Fillebrown, blacksmith of Easton, Mass., all that part of our father, Mr. James Fillebrown's estate, his now dwelling house and other buildings, which is the farm on which he now dwells in Mansfield, which was lately divided between Calvin and Alexander Fillebrown, excepting the said James of Easton is to come into possession of said premises at the decease of our father James Fillebrown, and not before, our father having a life estate of said premises, etc. January 31, 1792. Vol. 68, page 424."
